Foxes class enjoyed an incredible day watching Somerset play cricket this week.
The children were able to get autographs, get involved in some activities and games, run on the pitch, eat ice cream and even saw some cricket bats being made...we watched some of the actual cricket match too!
What an amazing experience with some fantastic memories made.

Axe Valley STEM Day
Our year 5 children had an amazing day taking part in a sports science day at Axe Valley Academy.
We took part in an action-packed day, learning what it takes to be an elite athlete.
First, we had a science lesson, where we conducted a series of practical experiments learning about how we release energy for exercise.
Our second lesson was a PE lesson, where we tested our power and speed in high jump. We also looked at the world record length for the long jump - it took us 5 jumps to make this distance!! We then had a go at the Illinois agility test.
Finally, we took part in a food technology lesson, where we made fruit skewers. We focused on using a range of different coloured fruits and consuming a range of vitamins to best support our bodies.
What an incredible day!

Hedgehogs Class Visit to Seaton Wetlands
Hedgehogs had a wonderful day exploring Seaton Wetlands last week. The children took part in a range of hands-on activities including nature hunts, nature listening activity, a bug hunt, and even a game where they became busy bees collecting nectar for the hive!
They learnt about hedgerows, bird boxes, sand martins, cow pats, and the many animals and insects that call these habitats home. A special highlight was the pond dipping, where the children used the nets to fish out insects living in the pond, it was amazing to see how much can be caught that you didn't realise was in there.
With plenty of walking and so much to discover, the children were certainly ready for a rest by the end of the day! A big thank you to Penny at Seaton Wetlands for leading such an engaging day, and to our wonderful Mrs Goff and the parent volunteers for their support.

At the beginning of June, we had an incredible visitor to our school!
Rock and Rapid Adventures joined us for the day with their mobile climbing wall.
The older children have been extremely keen for this event to happen and we were all delighted when the plan came to fruition.
All children from Reception to Year 6 had the opportunity to have a go and we were all so impressed by their courage and determination when taking part.
A huge well done to all of the children for their incredible attitudes to this adventurous activity and for supporting their peers so beautifully too.
We want to say thank you to Miss Grabham who makes all of these things possible for our children.
