Yesterday's World Book Day was a wonderful day full of costumes, reading, smiles and fun! 📚📖🌟 A MASSIVE thank you to our volunteers for enabling us to make the day extra special for the children. Our reading volunteers, Open the Book team, teachers and TA's all shared their favourite stories with the pupils. In the afternoon, Mr Whitehead ran a story telling worship, and this was followed by buddy reading and a hot chocolate treat for the children too. Thank you to Friends of St Andrew's for supplying the Hot Chocolate and biscuits.😋 A wonderful wholesome day was had by all! #worldbookday2026 #NationalYearOfReading2026

The children in Foxes class have been raising money for charity by creating their own games and stalls. The children and parents enjoyed games such as: pin the tail on the bunny, name the teddy and lucky dip! The charities chosen by the children were the RSPCA and Save the children. Today the children were able to present a Cheque for £89.60 to a representative from RSPCA, West Hatch who spoke to the children about the work the RSPCA carry out and how grateful they are for any fundraising donations. #fundraising @rspca.westhatch.animalcentre

As part of their topic about 'People who help us', Hedgehogs class enjoyed a visit from a doctor last week. The children got the opportunity to ask lots of questions and to look at some real medical instruments.

Our football team had an amazing day participating in the U11 National League Mixed Football tournament last week. They enjoyed a busy morning of football in the sunshine, followed by a stadium tour in the afternoon. We had an extra special visitor to school yesterday, whilst we celebrated Christmas Jumper Day! Lovely Father Christmas (with a little help from Friends of St Andrew's Primary) gifted each class a wonderful hamper with voucher for a Movie afternoon and Onesie Day next week! The Children were all so excited to see him. Father Christmas even visited Hedgehogs Class in their Forest School Session!

A team of children went to Axminster to take part in a multi-skills event. They took part in various challenges and managed to come away with the gold medals at the end of it. Well done to you all for showing such great skill and teamwork!

Before half term, we hosted a successful week of Bikeability training. All of our year 5 children managed to achieve their level 1 and 2 badges. Well done to you all for showing such maturity when riding on the roads in the village. A huge congratulations to some of our other key stage 2 children, who mastered the skill of riding a bike during this week too - what an incredible achievement!

A huge well done to our football team who managed a victory in our Y3/4 football match against Stockland Primary. All of the children played brilliantly and worked well together. Thank you to Stockland Primary and Mr Murnane for coming over to join us for this lovely opportunity for our young footballers.

We were very lucky to have professional cricketer, Josh Davey, to join us for one of our recent PE lessons. Josh helped us with improving our catching technique and gave us lots of useful tips to help us with our catching. What an inspiring afternoon for us all.
