Mental Health Ambassadors

At St. Andrew’s a team of pupils work with Mrs Cloud to plan and organise a variety of activities and fund-raising days which promote positive wellbeing for pupils and staff in our school.  They have raised money for the charity ‘Mind’, have embraced mental health awareness days and have developed a wellbeing room where meetings can take place and pupils can work in small groups.

The group are encouraged to have an awareness of those around them and suggest ways that wellbeing can be incorporated into everyday life.

The children use the 10 steps to wellbeing as central to their work.

Pupil Voice

Each class has two representatives who meet regularly with Mrs Butler to discuss ways of improving the school and any events or charity fundraisers the pupils have in mind. It is an elected body and the representatives are given a genuine stake in decision making at our school.

When planning new whole school developments, class reps are consulted – their ideas, views and opinion are sought. The children’s views and their concerns are always taken very seriously. This body also fundraises for either charities selected by the group or to improve the areas of the school that they would like to focus upon. This links to our British values.
